Learning to Dance With Fear
I was binge watching The Wonder Years on Netflix (yes, The Wonder Years… don’t judge me!) and there was an episode where Kevin, the main character, was learning to play the piano and practicing for a recital. During the rehearsal the person who played before Kevin played flawlessly. When it was Kevin’s turn he made a bunch of mistakes and stormed out of the rehearsal feeling ashamed. On the night of the recital Kevin stood on the street watching through the window. He then rode away on his bike never playing piano again. This was heartbreaking to watch. I couldn’t help but think how many times we’ve all done something similar; given up on our dreams too quickly, letting the fear of failure stop us from living our true potential.

There are many shifts you can make that will change your life, from practicing gratitude, to journaling, to meditating and yoga, but if I had to choose one, just one to teach and preach, it would be personal values. Embracing what is = MAGIC!!!
Lately I’ve been on a journey of learning to embrace what is and it’s been pretty magical, so I knew I needed to share it with you so you can bring the same magic into your own life. A few weeks ago I shared with you a raw, vulnerable and real blog post about a recent funk I went through. During this post I said, “When we fight our reality it gives control to everything that’s not working in our lives. When we embrace our reality (even if it doesn’t feel good) it creates space for what is to simply be. Once I stopped fighting my current situation, spaciousness was created and the desperation for change subsided. I began to feel lighter, happier and at more peace. Our darkest moments often bring the biggest breakthroughs and my recent funk has catapulted me into a beautiful, awe-inspiring journey of learning to embrace what is.

From Rock Bottom to Learning to FLY
A few months ago I was collecting content for my Ebook Learning to FLY and I came across the below journal passage which I wrote on March 10th, 2009. Exactly 6 years ago to the day that I refound it. Since I don't believe in coincidences I knew I needed to share it with you - raw, vulnerable and unedited.

Moments That Changed My Life & Can Change Yours as Well.
I have transformed my life over the last few years. It seems like a lifetime ago when I think of the woman I was before. Her life was very different than the life I live today and now looking back she seems like a stranger. Transformation is a process and takes time, but simple decisions can have a life changing impact. The decision to go to that yoga class, to read that book, or to take that trip.
