Moments That Changed My Life & Can Change Yours as Well.
It is never too late to start living the life you imagine. To become the person you want to be.
I have transformed my life over the last few years. It seems like a lifetime ago when I think of the woman I was before. Her life was very different than the life I live today and now looking back she seems like a stranger.
Transformation is a process and takes time, but simple decisions can have a life changing impact.
The decision to go to that yoga class, to read that book, or to take that trip. The moment you make the decision to do that thing is the moment you are taking a step toward changing your life.
I thought I would share a few of my life changing moments with you…
Eat, Pray, Love
Yes, reading Eat, Pray, Love is on my list. This book opened my eyes to a different way of living and made me realize other women felt the same as I did. In a time when all my friends were getting married, I realized there was another path I could take.
Yoga
The first time I went to yoga I experienced stillness. The inner chaos was silenced and I felt connected to something deeper than myself. Afterwards, I knew my life would never be the same and it hasn’t been since.
Travel
Travel ignites my soul. It seems surreal that I only discovered this passion a few years ago. In 2009 I took my first trip abroad. I wandered the cobbled streets of Rome with awe and amazement. I felt alive, free and authentic. My gypsy soul was awakened and hasn’t slept since.
Values
Discovering my personal values gave me a deeper sense of self-understanding and self-acceptance. I always felt like a black sheep, like I didn’t quite belong, but knowing my values made it ok for me to want what I wanted. (This blog post will help you uncover your personal values).
Ubud, Bali
It was here amongst the rice paddies that I found myself and fell in love with myself. Up until this time all the shifts I made had been minor. It was here that I really began living the life I live today. Read the whole story here.
And remember, no matter where you are in life, it's never too late to make small steps that can have a huge life changing impact!
XO, Emily
P.S. Another life changing habit was beginning a journal practice. This free guide will help you begin your own.
