How getting turned on gives me the answers

Many times on our path to self-discovery we seek the answers outside of ourselves by asking the people in our lives for advice on what we should do with our lives.

When I was lost AF and going through my quarter life crisis (AKA Saturn Returns) this was my go to. I didn’t have a clue what I should do with my life so I asked everyone around me. And then I would give their answers more credit than the answers I uncovered myself. The more I reconnected with myself, the more I began to turn my gaze inwards to seek clarity. Eventually I stopped asking others what I should do. Now, when I’m seeking an answer I ask my body. She is wise and is yours! When I come across an idea that’s a firm YES I get turned on in my lady parts. Yup, that’s right! It starts down there and moves through my entire body. Once I feel that feeling I know that it’s something I should pursue and commit to. It’s my bodies way of telling me, “YES, go in that direction!” Here’s an example: this morning I was journaling (aka seeking clarity) about the next round of The Revolutionary Woman, my collaboration and future creations with Linda, and overall what’s next for me, and then an idea “popped” into my mind. As soon as it did I got turned on! This feeling moved through my entire body. I smiled. A deep knowing within. A firm orgasmic YES!Needless to say, it’s an idea I will be pursuing! I also knew I needed to pause from my morning routine to email and share it with you because I know it’s easy to get caught in the trap of looking elsewhere for the answers.

The answers aren’t out there. They’re not something to seek. They’re within you.

Let me repeat that. The answers reside within YOU. No one will know the best path for you to take in life besides yourself. We are our own coaches, healers, guides and psychics.

It does take practice. Where and how do you start? First, I would recommend quieting the external noise so you can hear when the internal voice speaks. My go to’s are spending time in nature, meditating, traveling, creating art and journaling. Journaling being at the top of the list. Second, check in with your body. You can do this by putting one hand on your belly and one on your heart. Take a few deep breaths and ask your question. If it feels tight and constricting that may mean it’s a no. If you feel light and free that may mean it’s a yes. For me, as I mentioned, I get turned on. Sister, you are wise beyond measure.
